57 bucks?!!?!?!?

I hate you March 31st...

After getting off Blacktown station this afternoon - my routine of buying yet another dreaded weekly travel pass took place. As part of this routine, I would take out the two cards I need to make such a purchase: my Eftpos card, and my Student ID card - yes, I still use my student card from uni to cut ticket prices by half.

Me:
"Hi, can I please get a student purple travel pass?" *shows student card*
Ticket man: "Sorry mate, you need to get a new City Rail sticker on that card. Those things expire today. That will be 57 dollars.."

Me:
"Fuck you Tim Bailey"
Ticket man:
"Cash Warren too"

Roosters 10, Melbourne 6.

Picture from League HQ (Sydney Morning Herald)

To be honest, I was not fully confident to back the Roosters to win this game, maybe it was for this reason, why I stopped tipping. The Roosters, once again held their own against the benchmark team Melbourne, at the SFS.

The Roosters last year, were one of a few teams that managed to defy the storm from winning all their games. It appears that this has continued successfully at the early rounds of 2008.

Watching the live stats on nrl.com and listening to the live audio coverage provided by ABC radio, I hanged on to my seat and witnessed the very tight game. From memory, I heard them commentate on David Shillington's two tremendous hits on the storm's half back Cooper Cronk and some other noob, alot of drop ball from both teams, and the fullback wars that almost had Minichello score a try, up yours Tim Bailey.. I mean Billy Slater, stopping Minichello was not on.

It was Shaun-Kenny Dowall (winger) who scored the only try for the Roosters, with Captain Craig Fitzgibbon (lock) converting and kicking 2 penalty goals. Bloody Billy Slater just had to score in the last 5 minutes, with storm captain Cam Smith converting Slater's shitty try.

With this particular Roosters win, I can say with confidence that the chookies are a real threat for taking the NRL premiership, having won 2 out of their first 3 games, things are looking good for the red, white and blue.

Only worrying factor was Anasta's high hit on a storm player. This incident could rise and possibly come across with the NRL judiciary which might find Anasta guilty, meaning loss of game time.

You can view an article of the game here.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!!? No Way.....

Yes way! Today was a day of miracles. Why you ask? Pay attention to the picture above. You might think, 'wow, its a bloody picture of some random with a white shirt on the train, so what?'.. take a closer look. Notice the empty seats? Exactly! This photo was taken at 5:25pm.. peak hour, where trains with spare seats, don't exist.

This particular Blacktown train departing from Redfern station however, was sent from heaven. Again, referring to the picture, the following were no where to be seen:

1) Uni students
2) Uni students
3) Fellow commuters (probably in the upstairs carriage?)
4) taken seats
5) smelly / loud / gronky mofos

To my amazement, the train was also air conditioned, moreover, all the lights worked, graffiti was on a minimum, seats did not reek, City Rail map was still in tact, floors were clean, and finally, the train, was on time.

The train ride was that magical - but shortly ended after departing from Lidcombe station. I can note with great detail of 3 bogan type people, 1 of the 3 being the most annoying mother fucker - even moreso annoying than fucking Tim Bailey. Who's a fan of dickheads playing their music through shitty sounding speakers? Not me. This fucker was pumping shit-house music from Lidcombe to blacktown - lucky I had my ever dependent itouch to block the shitty music being produced from this asshole's speakers. Not only was that annoying, he was also singing to the damn songs, and on occasion, dancing and annoying people around him - if there was an award for Biggest annoying douche bag of the year - Tim Bailey would be runner up, and this mofo with his shitty speakers will win it - pants down.

I guess with every good thing that happens, bad things are sure to follow - this 'ying yang' logic bloody sux.

PS. I have given up on the red font.

Fail Names

Here's something very interesting. Make sure to thank your parents if your name isn't Lisa, Brian, Helen, John, Ann or George:

Weird-named kids are luckier

CELEBRITIES who call their children strange names such as Princess Tiamii or Peaches have actually done them a favour, a new study reveals.

Certain sounds in a name or links with royalty can make people seem more successful, lucky, or attractive, according to psychologist Professor Richard Wiseman. His team polled more than 6000 people to determine their perception of certain names as part of a study to launch the Edinburgh International Science Festival.

People called James and Elizabeth are seen as the most successful. Jack and Lucy the luckiest and Sophie and Ryan the most attractive.

But Lisa and Brian are the most likely to fail, Helen and John are the unluckiest, and Ann and George are the least attractive.

Originial Article

I've bolded Lisa and Brian as I know these people, and it turns out, the Lisa and Brian I know do tend to Fail alot. Cheers guys.
